Weiner.. I here the laughing.. It was a good documentary.. Read Below!

Weiner – R

Starring: Huma Abedin, Amit Bagga, Anthony Weiner
Director: Josh Kriegman, Elyse Steinberg

THE GOOD
I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary. It’s been a while since I’ve gone to a theater to see a documentary. Actually now that I think about it this might be a first. Besides those ones you’re forced to go to in school. The thing I liked most about this documentary was although it was about a political figure. The politics were not in it really. Yes, you know what he ran as but much past that they didn’t go into it much further then that. It was about Mr. Weiner and his pursuit. I guess more accurately his disastrous pursuit to become Mayor of New York City. They did bring up the scandal that was a running theme throughout the movie but not in a way where I was saying to myself “I get it. Move on.” It worked for me. Interesting to watch a guy who is always going one step to far and doesn’t seem to know when to stop and although you can admire that the ego of this guy really starts to show its self towards the end.  Well off to the next section as I’m rambling and my comments aren’t in order.

THE BAD
Honestly, I don’t have much bad to say about this documentary at all. It was well filmed, the focus of the documentary was an interesting guy, and they kept the politics out of it. (Come to think of it I could of saved myself a lot of typing if I would of just put it this way in the top section.. Eh moving on.) No complaints here.

THE CONCLUSION
Now as you can see by my rating below I gave it 9 out of 10. I imagine your asking yourself, If you’ve read this far, why isn’t it a solid 10 out of 10. I don’t know… It doesn’t feel like a 10 out of 10 for me but for what reason I couldn’t tell you. Maybe I just wanted a little more closure as to what everyone is up to now since all of this happened… Yes that’s it a poor reason but the only one I could think of other then a “feeling”. Final verdict if you are interested in all about politics then you should go. Are you a fan of people with huge ego’s who don’t know when to stop? Go. Are you just a fan of documentaries? Go. See the trailer below and if you like it… Guess what? Go.

Finding Dori.. The review that felt dirty to write..

Finding Dori – PG

Starring: Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O'Neill
Director: Andrew Stanton, Angus MacLane

THE GOOD
It’s a Pixar movie so of course this movie looks fantastic. More impressive was the short animation they played before the movie. Believe it or not my favorite character out of this movie wasn’t Dori and it wasn’t Nemo it was an octopus named Hank voiced by Ed O’Neill. Although there were some seals that were pretty funny as well. Now as you may tell by this not a lot of substance when it comes to the good. It looks a little thin and superficial and that leads me to…

THE BAD
Unfortunately I’m going to have more bad to say about this movie then good. The first like 10 minutes of this movie had me worried. It mirrored the first one to the point I was thinking to myself he we go again. Luckily the movie didn’t continue down that course. It felt like a pretty generic movie there wasn’t a big twist. In typical Pixar style there was the emotional turn in the middle of the movie with everything working out in the end. The story wasn’t anything to right home about.  Pretty positive I could tell you the entire story/plot in about 2 to 3 sentences or you could just watch the trailers. Although it’s what I expected the movie to be so I’m not sure whether I can truly complain about the story when I still went to the theaters knowing that. Now I went out and saw this movie on the Friday it came out it’s now Tuesday following that so it’s been some time. I was asked about what my favorite part was and I struggled to come up with a part. There were maybe one or two scenes that stood out but that were it. The movie wasn’t all that remember able. There certain scenes to this day that I remember out of other Pixar movies and for me this one didn’t have those scenes that I’m going to remember long after this movies been out a while. Also you could take Nemo and his dad out of this movie and the scenes they had and I still feel like you would of gotten the same movie except for like one scene in the end that you could of switched easily. So there presents in the movie didn’t really change much or add much.

THE CONCLUSION
So where am I at with this movie. Let’s remember that this is a Pixar movie so even a mediocre Pixar movie is a lot better then most movies. It was very well done and the animation was awesome. It just fell flat for me everywhere else. The thing with Pixar is.. it’s Pixar I expect more from them then what I got this time. They screwed themselves by setting the bar as high as they have. So is this a run out, have to see it in the theater movie? No not really. Is it a watch it when it comes out have a movie night kind of movie? Yes.
